Meibography

(Meibomian Gland Imaging)

Proper treatment of dry eye requires a thorough assessment to determine the underlying cause of dry eye. The most common cause of dry eye is Meibomian Gland Dysfunction, where the oil glands along the eyelids are unable to produce oil to effectively lubricate the eyes. Meibography uses infrared imaging of the eyelids to assess the functioning of the Meibomian glands. This procedure provides valuable information to determine the best course of dry eye treatment.
